Shepherd’s Pie Recipe

What’s better than ground beef, mashed potatoes and cheese? How about when you combine them to make shepherd’s pie! Haven’t heard of this recipe before? Well, let me tell you a little bit about it.

Shepherd’s pie is a casserole dish that includes ground beef, mashed potatoes, cheese and veggies. In my shepherd’s pie recipe I used small green peas to sneak in something a little healthy. You can use corn, carrots, or whatever vegetables you like. You can even leave them out if you please!

My dad used to make shepherd’s pie a lot for dinner when I was growing up. It is one of those comfort foods that makes me feel so nostalgic. It’s easy to make and pretty much covers all the food groups. That’s a win, especially if you’re feeding kids!

I really like to use homemade mashed potatoes in my shepherd’s pie recipe. If you don’t have time to make homemade you can always use instant potatoes. Sometimes you just don’t have the time to peel, boil and mash potatoes. If you do feel like making homemade mashed potatoes, you can check out my delicious cream cheese mashed potatoes recipe.
